Time To Complete Your 2021 OSHA Log!

It’s that time of year! Remember to complete your OSHA 300 Log and use the data to complete the 2021 OSHA form 300A.  Once completed and signed by the most senior executive at the site, the 300A form is to be posted in a visible employee area from February 1st through May 1, 2022.

If you are required to submit your data to OSHA, March 2, 2022, is the deadline for electronically reporting your OSHA Form 300A for calendar year 2021. Submission can begin January 2, 2022. Remember, not all businesses need to submit their OSHA 300A Data. While many businesses need to keep Logs, only a small percentage of businesses need to submit the 300A to OSHA.  Otherwise, the 300 Log and 300A form need to be maintained for 5 years (2021 Log and 300A maintained until 2026).  Establishments required to submit to OSHA include:

  • Those with 250 or more employees that are currently required to keep OSHA injury illness/ injury records,
  • Businesses with 20-249 employees that are classified in historically high rates of occupational injuries and illnesses. These establishments are listed on the OSHA website

The information should be more than a ‘checkbox’ activity! The summary is beneficial to plan your safety goals and initiatives. Use the information to communicate corrections and prevention activities implemented and to consider future strategies.

We receive many questions each year regarding what is recordable and what is not recordable on the OSHA 300 Log. It is confusing!  However, we are available to answer questions and can also provide training upon request.
